Organised demonic widespread terror Taliban’s view - they’re heroes and martyrs But for Afghan citizens, all their hopes deplete Freedom and dignity laid at their conquerors feet Each nation in their cozy cocoon, looks the other way Humanity is oblivious to blue skies now turning grey We are all interconnected, have we not yet learnt Did not the Chinese virus see the world burnt Brains have developed but hearts shrunk Methinks humanity as a whole is now sunk Memories are short, 9/11 is by now forgotten Each in self-aggrandization, by power smitten It’s not about Afghanistan but collective consciousness We see in ourselves indifference and callousness A far cry yet it seems our cognition spherical We are cannibals, acts feral and inimical 22-August-2021 Afghanistan Poetry Contest Sponsor: Kai Michael Neumann

"It’s not about Afghanistan but collective consciousness We see in ourselves indifference and callousness " It is true. "We are all interconnected, have we not yet learnt Did not the Chinese virus see the world burnt" Beautiful thinking and consequently flow of thoughts and words and ideas and truths. Congratulations!

Thanks Chris! We are indeed all interconnected, with love enablement life purpose as said by Jesus and all other ascended masters. Wonder how long we’ll take to comprehend this?

Wow Seeker! Yes, it seems like no one cares about the Afghans, the very people who helped us. We owe it to them to get them to safety and allow them to immigrate to the United States and other countries for better lives.

True, Jennifer. High time we look at all of humanity as one, living in harmony on Mother Earth.

Brilliant writing Seeker, I don’t think 9/11 will ever be forgotten, but everything fades over time, your final line I have written so many times about humanity, but do bear in mind these taliban believe they serve a God, just as the crusaders did, I feel sorry for the Afghans, but I have no solution, no more than yourself, and I’m not being disrespectful to you, cheers David

Just being honest about the situation, and our individual powerlessness to change the outcome, I still like your poem

Yes David, I do accept an astute mind and articulate speaker can win a debate both for and against the motion.

It’s not about Afghanistan but collective consciousness That part really says it all for me. we have also grown apathetic and I cannot understand how not just the U.SA but all the other countries are able to turn a blind eye to what just happened. I feel so sorry for those who will surely be killed or condemned to a miserable life with those fiends back in power!!

The litmus test always is love. Is the act in resonance with love? Then, we cannot err
