A band of showy daffodils
Sway and
Their yellow trumpets
Blown by a bellowing wind
The Bluebells ring their dainty chiming bells
Songsters sing a sweet melodic lullaby
Painted Ladies clap their wings
Crickets mark out a Ruthmic beat

Woodpeckers do paradiddles
Bullfrogs provide the bass
Bees fill the rests
Eyes in the sky in profusion
Look down advisedly
Bigfoot listens hidden behind a tree
The stream trails its silver ribbons
Trout jump and splash
The fireflies guide visitors to their seats

The bluebells ring
The songsters above
Sing a sweet melody

Divorce By Fire By Force

With no noised date yet
On when they have to wed,
Anyone could safely bet
That it’s a right-bed
Welcoming wrongs of the lust-red.

A victorious head on her lap,
First, in a woolen cap,
The idea selling he could in same
Have a lingered nap
Plus things that feed shame
Between a loin and head, no gap!

So far as her trousers flap
Is actualizing An Inviting Map,
It’s a right bed in the wrong,
Advisedly not left too long
Save their wish a future divorce
By fire by force.

Life

The cards will fall how they must
and the world will turn again just
as it did the day before.
And somewhere there's peace,
and somewhere there's war.
Life's not a given so spend it wisely,
don't take a gamble, use it advisedly.
Don't think you have to go out and rush it,
it's a beautiful bloom, so try not to crush it.
Take each day like a country mile,
be kind to your neighbour and pass on a smile.
Never apologise for being here,
we are all born equal so have no fear.
Stand your ground and make your mark,
don't fear the person with the loudest bark.
Remember empty vessels make the loudest noise
and the nicer person's the one with hand-me-down toys.
Trust your instincts and you'll go far,
but each of life's battles will leave a little scar.
They are there to remind us of life's little fails,
so use them as the wind to billow your sails.
And try to catch the next high tide,
there may be troubled waters but, boy, what a ride!

Scheduling

So let us have our laugh;
it is enough for just a moment
sacrificed to force belief
that somewhere an intangible
divinely-ordered plan exists,
to which we must conform.
Dear God, give mercy to my plea
that that may not be so!

That there is little solid ground
on which free will may put down roots
already--I shall dignify
my entry with a lordly number,
cringing as I write, and beating back
a nagging, growing certainty that even
summoning a doubt is forordained.

There's no way out!
We all are hypocrites, and must
expunge such realistic thinking
as we write our grocery lists
and then assign them slots
within our silly days in order
just to fortify our flesh
and those elusive pleasure centers
lurking there among our bones.

But thoughts are stubborn.
They keep coming back, reminding me
of their entitlement. My to do lists
are perishable--reality is not.
Even consciousness, I read,
may plod ahead of me
long past mortality.
And I remain advisedly
a happy cog in a machine
of some beneficent monstrosity
I'll never comprehend.
