Adda Poems | Examples

Its your Birthday!

Its your B’day,
Time to be Happy & gay.
Put on that lovely smile & walk that extra mile!
After all the cakes you bake,
The calorie counter is at stake!

Lay down the boots, drop the shoulder.
Take rest, let the mind wander.
alas it’s your day,
Give the ADDA team a break,
Your dedication is doing wonders,
ADDA is growing stronger…

Whip up a Ganache, make a turnover,
Apple or pineapple –nah, do it with durian when not sober!
Deconstruct a pavlova, reimagine an opera,
A pinch here, a dash there,
A drizzle, a flambe…
Life’s boring- create some melodrama!

Dance a tune, declutter the mind,
Don’t play mommy tonight!
The Girls are teens now,
Let them loose today, don’t raise a brow!

Ask Hubby to be at his best,
Toast a bubbly & forget the rest!
Alas, it’s your B’day,
& You deserve the very best!

Palindromes - a Great Day Out

Maram grass dewed.
An adda takes a chance,
And, drinks from the dewed Maram,
Ere the sun dried it.
Now full of pep was awa.
Saw, I was astounded!
Or did I just imagine?
Our deed done, clock says home.
Otto called, "We are late, come on"!
"Nan will be worried"!
"Ata", I screamed, then ran!
Home, nan greeted us
with some pop fruit flavoured.
Mmm, fresh apple cider.

Lets Heal Our Hearts With Love Anew
(Echo Sonnet, number 4)

Darling, please heal again this broken heart,
once our hands sought each other's soft touch;
when our nights found no dancing was too much.
Always you and I from that kissing start.

Can we find sweet true love and never part?
Fly upon white snow covered mountain tops;
move heaven and earth, pray it never stops!
Always you and I from that kissing start.

Next consult our love's astrology chart?
Discover new moans in our night's hot bed;
As we forget those love hurts in our heads.
Always you and I from that kissing start.

Darling, please heal again this broken heart
Always you and I from that kissing start.

Betcha can't guess why my spirits are flying high
My uncle left me scads of dough, a happy dude am I

Let me see, what to do with all my new found cash
A villa on the Riviera, each night a different bash

Or what about a condo in the centre of Manhattan
Frequent all the trendy spots in tails, top hat and satin

Find a gal with a luscious bod to curl up all my toes
Money talks, I might get lucky Heaven surely knows

Keep your knickers on said one of my very good friends
Is this the way you really want this lurid tale to end

Why not give it all to the needy coz at the end of the day
You'll feel like a million bucks, and this is what you'll say

Boom-dee-adda, boom-dee-adda, ziss-boom-bah
Halleluiah, hip-hooray and do-re-me-fah-lah

In Adda Quit

Feelings
expressed in words of endearment
A cheek stroking breeze on a hot Summer day
Cool of tile floor to walking bare feet
The squeeze of a hand.
A quick little hug
Tentative brushing the hair from your face
Following that with a tender embrace
Hoping you're hearing what I haven't said
and that it's some comfort to you instead
Trying to find words
in your moment of need
Is all I can think of to do
Maybe tomorrow I'll know what to say
I wish I could do it today
