Dieu Et Mon Droit

"Oh King Charles Philip Arthur George,
how do I see thee?
Let me count the ways...
Tho' beauty is only skin deep,
and in the eye of the beholder,
or so we have been told,
yours is more, it goes to the bone,
a sore sight for eyes to behold,
now you have acceded to the throne.
As, like diarrhoea, it seems,
it runs in the genes,
and, if POTUS is President of the USA,
would you be he, KOTUK,
King Of The UK?"
'Surely you jest,' quoth he in dour reply.
Tho', not joking nor feeling surly,
"Some things you simply can't deny,
ours not to reason why," said I,
"and please don't call me Shirley!"

His Gift

God made her as his gift and she, once laid
beside the luscious, tempting limbs, acceded
to profane acts under God’s Sacred Tree
and slurped the ill-timed juice, the god-damned seed.

She gave him some; and he did not refuse
her, joining instead the mutinous ménage
against the Trinity. They tasted heaven
and in that moment bit the dust
of earth.

And now they curse: they curse the Interloper
who came and threw their timing out of joint,
spilling truth - with lies - all to seduce her;
they curse their God for what He gave them - choice.

And since that time, engorged with sweat and dust
they dread the right to choose more than their lust.

Sodom and Gomorrah
There is nothing at all today that remains
Of those two sinful cities that once stood on the plain.
When God vent his wrath upon Sodom and Gomorrah,
They quickly went from here today to gone tomorrow,
And all that poor Lot got was some salt for his pains.

Herod and Salome
Herod's lust for Salome a stepfather's exceeded,
But when he offered to pay her to dance, she acceded.
She didn't ask for gold, instead,
She wanted John the Baptist's head,
And that seventh veil was all the inducement horny Herod needed.

Samson and Delilah
When Delilah learned, to his despair,
That Samson's strength lay in his hair,
She got him drunk, he fell asleep,
And then she sheared him like a sheep.
Some secrets are best to keep and not to share.

The Withered Tree Spake

"The withered tree spake"

Battered and bruised - yet I stand,
firmly rooted deep down;
seasons have gone by - blowing hot and cold,
yet, I live without a frown!

Leaves go dry - they shed off and fly,
'nay me' - the firm trunk I am!
Here to stay - with a dig in the heels,
showing character none can fathom!

Ants crawl up and so do the bugs
and I do see a Pecker;
They huddle-up to nest - and some do rest,
'hey there' - 'you are a home maker'!

In time they lay - then cuddle-up on it,
'eureka', the eggs that crack;
Hairless and shrivelled - they feast on the crawlers,
also learning life's nuances and knack!

Autumn draws the Spring - covers me to the brims,
thus the change of colour;
Lived long enough - knowing change alone as constant,
I behold my crest in valour!

Every moment is new - all uncertain,
around me and in me life adrift;
I've come to terms - acceded to the norms,
that truth is never to shift!

Travails of time, has its way,
to wail and warn you from a collision head long;
May peace prevail with calm and poise,
will rightfully go back to where we all belong!

Balance of Inequities

Look up in green eyed jealousy
as they sneer at the sniveling masses,
who occupies moral high ground
in the war of unequal classes?

When the Rothchilds become day laborers
and Rockefellers beggars and tramps,
may they learn the sting of humility
when shuffling into our camps.

But no, who then would produce the finest
or the best that could be made,
what artesian would do his utmost
if there were no riches to trade?

The wealthy need poor to support them
and the poor need the rich to pay,
it has to be both or nothing
it seems there is no other way.

What chef would take pains o’re the savory
who proudly wax the Rolls Royce,
what good to sculpt and weave royally
if poverty was the only choice?

Aspiring to the ultimate heights
keeps people at doing their best,
prospering by being rewarded
sets us apart from the rest.

The stifling of human ambition
cannot and has never succeeded,
diligence seeks the redemption
of glory to be acceded.
