Religion is mind or thought centric, a conditioned belief system, conceptual, culture dependent. Spirituality is heart centric, in direct experience, beginning with emptiness of unknowing-ness and imbibing wisdom in definitiveness from universal consciousness. Zen has to do with spontaneity, a state of no-mind. I don’t know where the Star of David came in, which in any case corresponds to our spiritual heart or from the Tantra (energy) system, the Anahata / heart chakra.
