Your Laugh Could Kill the Cold
I never heard your song again
Your laugh could kill the cold
I never knew loss like that my friend
Your youth was no way old
I never could come back here again
My stories I’ve never told
I never slept still and alright again
always feeling too bloody cold
I never said thanks to you my friend
the years of battles had taken hold
You gave your life to protect me your
friend and I can feel you truth be told
I crouch here and touch your grave
my friend. Your headstone is so cold.
I cry tears for the years of you my
friend when we joked we’d never
grow old.
I came here to see you my friend,
to honour your beautiful soul.
I never heard your song again
Your laugh could kill the cold.
