People tell me not to talk about politics or religion
But religion is important to me
I’m a Christian and I believe completely
That Jesus died for me
And I am saved because I believe
I met a woman who said she, too, believed
But there was something that she couldn’t see
The Bible is true – it is truly God’s book
Yet, she couldn’t see… how that could be?
I told her I’d read it and it was God’s word
It held the truth within its pages
Where I’d met with my personal Savior
And felt the touch of His spirit
Guiding my reading, my feelings, my believing
Still, she was skeptical and couldn’t be persuaded
She told me I was wrong and wouldn’t even pray about it
I told her, I couldn’t see how she could refuse to believe
In a bible who revealed His will, His kindness and His love
Without this book, the Bible, how would we even know
About our wonderful Savior, the One who lives in my heart?
She couldn’t answer my question and refused to listen
Leaving me with only a shadow of doubt
That her faith, her light, was all but gone out
Without the Bible, God breathed, the Word
How could we even know about the One who died
And rose again… saving us from the darkness of sin?
The Bible is God’s word and I believe it without reservation
But I learned something by talking with this lady…
Not everyone shares the same faith or destination!
