Your Name
Your Name
When the evening shadows descend
and brush against the earth,
When the cares of this day
fade and fall away,
When the sound of my voice
echoes through the empty hall,
I call your name.
Longing for just the faintest
whisper of your voice,
Wanting your hand to cradle
my weeping heart,
Knowing the broken glass can
never be made whole,
Still, I call your name.
Longing to stop the relentless tide
and make an end,
Waiting for ease of breath
when truth prevails,
Hoping to feel the peace of surrender.
Yet, I call your name.
