You Taught Me That Tomorrow

YOU TAUGHT ME THAT TOMORROW I forgot my coat and my fur hat, You said you said, you told me that. You taught me how to play the sonata, And taught me to sing for the cantata. You said I was taught and it's a fact, You said you said, you taught me that. Grandmother taught me to bake a pie, In uncle's plane, I was taught to fly. My mind is quizzing the lessons now, That this is that and that is how! I think you showed scientific fact, You said you said, you told me that. I cannot recall all I've learned, The hours spent, the candles burned. The practice on paper, canvas, or a mat But, you said you said, you showed me that. I never learned the "knowing" we borrow, Perhaps you taught me that tomorrow. -Edlynn Nau

Thanks Jan! I AM SO SICK! Bees in my noes, porcupine in my throat, and seals in my lungs! Zoo understand? I wrote this last night figuring I'd try to start the new year back in PS. Now I can hardly keep my head up. Time for Benadryl. This was a poem that just fell out of my pen, when I heard someone say, "I taught you that tomorrow." Meaning, he realized he had not taught me yet but means too. Can't bypass a good line no matter how sick one feels. HAPPY 2016 2U JAN!
