You See Fear

There's a ghost in your mirror, an image that will not pass. And you watch as acid tears trickle-down behind the glass. Her haggard, defeated face reflects a life built on lies. And staring beyond her pain, you see the fear in her eyes. She's like an apparition, what you see cannot be true. And when you reach out to her, there is no one there but you. In your heart, you know her hurt, it's like she's dying inside. And you can almost hear her, contemplating suicide. You feel forced to look away, for your heart can take no more. And yet, one day, you may stay and watch her open death's door. (Quatrain) 4/29/2015

"And you watch her acid tears trickle down behind the glass", from the beginning I felt here the deep sorrow with very little hope though there is always hope if there is time left.

Hello Emile . . . I've been away for a while getting my first book of poetry published on April 9th. I'm slowly getting back into things with "PS." I see you are still quite the "Master of Rhymed Verse." I always enjoy reading your verse!! The message and imagery you portray in these riveting five stanzas" are quite vivid and telling!! Most Excellent Work!! A "7" + FAV, Sir. Best Always, Gary

Wow! Deep write! This reminds me A LOT. Of my poem "reflection". Thanks for sharing. I tend to write about fictional characters. I hope this is the case for you and this particular poem. Everyone is beautiful. I am a photographer and I know it to be true. Not to mention, looks are only vain and skin deep. There is so much more to life. Beautiful piece! God bless! A 7
