FICTIONAL POEM FOR CONTEST Ever since the day that you passed away I’ve struggled with life, it’s been so hard I crouch by your tiny grave at the churchyard shedding bitter tears, which are here to stay I endured rounds of IVF so I could conceive and I’m finding it extremely difficult to cope I shut myself in the nursery and silently mope Your tragic death I find so hard to believe Nobody can tell me what went so wrong on the stormy night when you were born My beloved child, your loss I now mourn Safe my arms is where you really belong Contest Enclosed Rhyme September 2018 Sponsor Dear Heart 9/2/18

This fictional poem touched on the memory of my infant sister's death that tormented my mother the rest of her life. Marlena only lived twenty five minutes before she departed leaving heartbreak in her wake. I'm sure your lovely poem will do well as Constance will relate to it. : )

If it is any consolation, what could be better than knowing only love throughout one's life? Still, another winner for sure! Aloha! Rico

A well written verse that tugs at the heartstrings Jan. It's so tragic when that happens to parents. Tom
