You Forced My Hand

I was forced to write about kittens and butterflies,
but truth be told nothing came to mind
(envision myself feline? really? I'd be coughing up a storm!)
For sure not a poem to change your world-view.

But truth be told nothing came to mind
(though I still keep form with this crazy write)
For sure not a poem to change your world-view
(unless you were expecting something cuddly --- sickeningly sweet)

Though I still keep form with this crazy write
because pantoums are enjoyable.
Unless you were expecting something cuddly --- sickeningly sweet,
I'm sure you could feel the same,

because pantoums are enjoyable
... and mine come with less hair balls --- less wallpaper that took flight.
I'm sure you could feel the same
(were it not for the LOL cat memes that infected the world-wide web)

And mine come with less hair balls --- less wallpaper that took flight
(envision myself feline? really? I'd be coughing up a storm!)
Were it not for the LOL cat memes that infected the world-wide web
I was forced to write about kittens and butterflies.

Hey Timothy, That was a fun read. I think you just proved you can write a poem about anything! Running on pure technique and skill with your Muse AWOL, you held your own. Good job with the placement! Cheers, Brian

I try. Just couldn't picture myself as a cat ... couldn't it ... so my muse went somewhere else (out in space, perhaps) ... Happy to pass some giggles your way :)

Hahaha ... It makes my day to know I didn't offend any cat lovers with my nonsense ... they are cute from a distance, but cats don't like me (always gravitate more towards the dogs) wuvz da commentz, Constance.

Interesting work..I suppose that you were not interested in blue butterflies nor kittens..I am allergic to cats but a really bad allergy just can't take much of the fur or I get to sneezing..I have written some thoughts on Andrea Dietrich's work about Valentine's Day 2016 about poets and stealing others' work..Thanks for stopping by..Sara

I'm actually not allergic to cats (but I don't think they are a fan of me ... always running away) ... I'm more of a dog person myself ... more love-able in my opinion. I responded to your comment on Andrea's Valentine's Day poem ... I don't know if you get notified of that or not, though. Thanks for reading.

This was a whole lot of fun to read!! "because pantoums are enjoyable ... and mine come with less hair balls --- less wallpaper that took flight." Very clever choice of words. "For sure not a poem to change your world-view." Are you sure?? ;) haha nice job. Always, Laura

I guess that depends on what your world-view is to begin with ... if it revolves around poems that make a bit more sense, then yes, I might have changed it ..... ha ha ha. Happy you had fun. That was my intention :)
