You Came Toward Me In the Light
You came toward me in the light the moon
had left us, or the trees from what their leaves
shadowed. Crunching earth the partner left to
moonlight, and the shine silver of blond hair
above your hidden eyes, awaited full
hearted, long by night. Your scent is sweetly
close; labor to bring near to the wood seat
that can serve well for whispers, wailing more
the sound of it. You touch my hand, you hold
firm my very mind, we talk awhile, we
scream, kiss, and we smile, cry and arise all
the way above the branches reach. The cold
and soaked all ground the bed, your voice my life,
soft stomach the pillow, oh my woods love.
The feel of friendship finishes a short
and sudden way behind. The laughter rings
loudly, memory will keep us safe and
homemade, as the wind whips all around, wild
and manner less, so like the sea not dark
but terrible at once. Remember years
passed, and long forgotten by the world, so
young fierce and awake like the always green.
