Yesterday I Was Wrong
Yesterday I proved to myself that
all of my enemies and even some of
my friends were justified in hating me.
Troubles that I had started
seemed impossible to rectify.
So I planned on removing myself
far away from all of them -
away to the ends of the earth.
Now just a day later, I know
that will never make sense. It
looks irresponsible to abandon ship,
as if troubles ever go away.
I turned to God's word, I John 1:9
and found confession good for my
soul, seeking out my unrighteousness.
I started with God, and as He forgave me,
He started doing a work on my heart
cleaning up the junk that I have
let come between Him and me.
Though we try to rationalize them,
mistakes are going to follow us.
Here is how I will face my friends -
and others that I used for my own gain.
To apologize will be hard but I will
stay the course, run the race and win the prize.
God is the faithful one, and He will help me.
Oh, remorse is so beautiful.
I am sorry and I have come to
believe - “I am sorry” are the loveliest three words
In the world. They can lead to forgiveness -
Yesterday I was wrong.
