Yesterday, I cried a tear Everywhere I looked, I found some fear Yesterday silenced all my dreams With doubts and darkness, dread that destroys The beautiful with melancholy Yesterday, I tried to listen To the joy, the kindness, the gentle That comes from hearing the light of life, The inspiration and the sacrifice, Wonderful beyond this present smile Yesterday, I cried for hope With a yearning, a longing to cope Yearning for the inspirations, the muse Who whispers its comfort into my spirit, Erases the darkness with tenderness Yesterday, I tried to discover The meaning of joy in hues of wonderful, Blessings so beautiful they free me, Stirring up faith in me, miracles beyond What the mind can believe, but inside… I know that, even yesterday I was fortunate To know Him, the One who is alive inside me, The One who gave His life for me – so that I could accompany Him in eternity, praise Him with the love that He fixed inside me, With a faith and a grace that is above reproach… Because of Him, even yesterday, before I knew About the love that is so alive, so true… I was blessed to be chosen, to be given grace That would cause me to know the joy of His embrace. Thanks to Him, the One I aspire to be like… Yesterday reminds me of just how much I’ve grown, How I’ve changed and become… like the One I live to love, The One who gives me His answers from above! He is the Son and He shines on each of us. Yesterday, I know – reminds me that my heart Is filled with faith, hope and love that only He could bestow!
