Yellow Bird
My little sunshine colored bird, I am so proud of you.
You did not walk when others ran.
You did not talk when other sang.
I prayed.
You fought unseen monsters, rode giant beasts,
colored outside the pages, lines far away and forgotten.
It was a rough path, and a long one.
It was also worth every step.
Now you jump higher, and spin in the sky, alive in full flight.
The ground so far below, it can not be seen… maybe ever again.
Every good wish for you. Every thankful word of glory to His name.
You can do everything you set your self to the task of…
You are capable, creative, and intuitive.
You laugh like water falling on crystal glass… beautiful.
A sound that can only be understood after rain storms in spring.
Your hair is like sweet straw, soft and golden…like sun-silk.
Your eyes are bright and alight with delight about the world.
Your future is so intense, every step I ask an angel to guide beside you…
Ever near and at your need.
My sweet daughter. My little girl. You are everything I prayed for.
God has been so kind to me.
I am truly blessed.
