my words are gossamer, diaphanous
and wispy and fragile
my lines cobwebs of chiffon, filigree
I pen in blood red ink . . .
sublime are my thoughts unending
rapturous I write into the dark night
turning words into poetry
from deep within me I pull emotions
and bleeding, bleeding from my pen
is my brokenness and eternal, forever
grief . . .
slowly, I remove the red soaked dagger
from my heart
and the pain is dripping, dripping
and the pieces of my heart lay
beneath my pen . . . like shards of glass
but, I use every shattered fragment
all those pieces that are me
and in time
I have used each piece each one each one
for I have found a strength
unfathomable . . . in writing
