Writing On a Rainy Day

a monochromatic blend of sea and sky sullenly ashen gray chills more deeply as a biting wind carries stinging salt sweat from foaming horses driven headlong to dash in an explosive jujitsu death on the rocks and neatly dissolve visions of yesterday's aquamarine tide pools and the gentle surprises of life amid stone and kelp and this image too will transition becoming tomorrow's Kodachrome dream

I find this brings out something most people do (and not just poets or other writers): that we observe things and process, tag and interpret the information that we take in...some of it for later use, some of it for immediate application...and some it for no apparent reason. ;-) Nice write :-)

I've learned that the ability to remark, describe or comment on the obvious gives me much fodder to write. Thank you for your read and observations. - Chuck

I've got to say - this poem gave me the chills. I love the ending too. Very nice one. Rainy days are amazing - I often get inspiration when it rains...well, WHEN it rains...haha...California sucks sometimes. Always, Laura

I must say I relate. Living on the central coast, and deriving so much of my insiration from what takes place about me. ..well, weather is hard to write about, when it's such a constant. Thanks for your kind words. - Chuck
