Work In Progress

Oh not so distant past I wish to walk your way again and see But you are lost But for in my memory Oh not so distant past The people and their faces The very normal days That churning time replaces Oh not so distant past My heart aches for the days Of not splitting a lamp post on a walk And other nonsense and nothing clichés Oh not so distant past I'll take heed from your mighty grip For in those future days to come This current ordinary day may hold magic Oh not so distant past When I say 'remember when' I should remember there's also now And sometimes put down my pen Oh not so distant past And the lost that whisper still They etched their love upon my heart For me to share and time to distil
