Words and Poetry

One must feel a word if to know. Taste its flavor while caressing the contour of each winding curve -- we hear with our hearts as well as our ears; sniff with our breathful blood pulsed through veins -- we are sentient beings, spirit our balance and saving grace....

Yes! Emily Dickinson said much in her short poem on words, including the enigma: "A word is dead when it is said, some say." Written, thought, Living and SPOKEN word? is the Big Question. (Shalom, shalom: the Bible speaks of the last in First Book/chapter, and Of LIVING WORD in last chapter, The Revelation of Jesus Chrost kata a' Johanan)

I believe she was saying, the joy is in the creation, in the birthing (which is also painful) -- then it is gone from her life; she, seeming always wanting to create from scratch, not rehash the old (selfcentered in a way...perhaps fearful of deep intimacy out of her control)...obviously, she was not a mother.

Thank you, Tom. So true! I try, but often fall to the negative. And it serves no good. Can't put out a fire by dousing it with gasoline. Blessings my friend.
