Women Vs Men
What I dislike most about certain women
is their insatiable need to know,
that determined prying,
that ferreting to be privy to what
does not concern them. And then
to spread it like a favorite recipe.
When Eve gave way to curiosity
rather than obedience and ate
the fruit forbidden, she unknowingly
stamp this trait on every female
that would emerge from her body.
What I dislike most about certain men
is their helplessness to care for themselves
in simplest things, as if they never
outgrew the need for their mothers,
and that shameful fear they carry
of doing something that might
be construed as “womanly” or belonging
strictly to housewives.
When Adam listened to his wife,
he lost his freedom to stand alone,
and begot a race of males who sought out
women for wives to prove their manhood –
but never dared to leave their mothers’ side.
