Women In the War Zone

She cried on national television A plea that broke my heart Her baby clung so tightly In the bomb shelter they embarked. Once, I experienced such turmoil No baby on my side While she is in a bomb shelter A bunker is where I'd hide. Sadly, I was a “killer,” Where she pleads to stay alive The Gulf War is just in my memory The Ukraine is where she resides. We both are very strong women. I a warrior, she a Mom Praying and begging for mercy Holding to what's right not what's wrong. I'll never forget her tears, or the baby in her arms, I'll pray for salvation and mercy To right this horrible wrong.
