Without You

With you, Every day seemed to end too soon, With you, Everything seemed easier to say or do. With you, I feel bright, like a firework in the mid July night. With you, I’m able to stay strong, And be myself. Throughout the whole day, And throughout the whole night. But without you, I never seemed to have a place, And when you called, I’d hate hearing your voice, Because it reminds me of how I couldn’t stay Without you, I felt the need to drink my life away, So maybe then, I wouldn’t have to live with all this pain. Without you, My views of the world changed. No more hope, Just the knowing of what it’s capable of. Without you, I lost my home, The embrace of your arms, I’m no longer warm Without you, I’m a ghost of a whole. Just a shadow, Left wandering the world. Like Peter Pan when he found Wendy, Except there’s no one here to find me. But even when it all comes crashing down, Like lightning in the sky I’ll hold my ground. I believe that I’ll make it through night, I’m here to stay, and I’ll win this fight.
