Read poetry
with wild abandon,
the way it's meant to be read.
Let the words sing to you.
Open your mind for your reactions
unconfined, uncluttered, unbiased by your prejudices.
Think less about what the poet
is trying to say to you,
and more about how the words flow over
and seep deep within you.
Setting off sparklers and sky rockets
jangling the change in your pocket,
filling the space between lines,
filling the space between breaths,
with wild abandon.
