I
wish
that I
was a bird
flying high above
dipping and diving.
Singing a song,
a melody sweet
drifting down,
touching the
earth with love
lifting a spirit.
I would spin and twirl,
whirling in the sunshine,
and float on a breeze with ease.
There would be no fear of crashing down.
Oh yes, I would be full of great happiness, strength and courage
I would love my filigree feathers fluttering,
white and wispy, so delicate yet strong.
I would plummet downward
and sing my song loudly,
come fly today, fly
fly, fly, fly up high
and would sing
while flying, flying
soaring on the wind.
Gliding and falling,
drifting, twirling,
whirling down,
then, up
high,
high.
