Wish I Could Be Just As Happy
Wish I could be as happy
As that person on the sign I see as I hurry.
But happiness for the sake of appearances
Was never something I ever believed in.
Yet like something I cannot see,
There it still is, to a certain degree:
Just about as happy
As I’ll ever seem to be.
