Blowing out candles on a birthday cake or watching a shooting star fall to Earth, are times we believe a wish may come true. We are unwilling to dismiss magic, for fantasy's part of reality, stretching the limits of what hope can do. A wish is an improbable desire, it may be personal and unspoken, or it may be as cliche as world peace. The enchantment behind making a wish, is if we believe; we may be granted our desire, or at least the odds increase. A wish makes the unlikely possible if only in your imagination, and it can imbue hope where there is none. To wish is to enter the world of dream where spells and superstitions still exist, and things, like knock on wood, are said and done. (Tri-Con) 04/24/2023 Writing Challenge - 'W' Words Sponsored by: Constance La France "Wish"... Rhymezone/HowManySyllables Tri-Con Created by Connie Marcum Wong, at least four three-line stanzas. Each line has no set meter or syllable count. The last word in each stanza must rhyme with the following stanza, and then you must change your rhyming word again in the third stanza, and so on.

I liken wishes to unaddressed prayers. If they are heard, they can come true.. Loved your poem Emile. Wish and hope are kinda the same and where there is hope there is a glimmer of happiness. Your poem is beautifully written. I "wish" you well in the contest . :)
