Wintery Night
Wintery night
It was a cold dark winter night, and not a person in sight
All you hear is the wind rushing through the trees brushing and rattling the leaves with fury.
Thunder making the mice scurry.there's not a soul in sight on this wintry night, then all the sudden all that's wrong begins to seem right, I was lost but now I am found I walk towards the light.
I hear a voice calling out my name, I look into the distance and a figure appears, my eyes begin to fill with tears. Her voice is soft and faint, gets louder and louder can it be a saint.
Am I dead, could this be heaven's gate, or am I hearing things have I began to faint. I long for comfort, the pain is real. Can it be over a done deal.
The ground is soft, my steps are weak, my soul has reached it's peak, so cold I can't even speak.
The figure is growing larger and larger, I reach out hoping to indulge her, I'm not close enough , moving is getting harder and harder.
I'm almost there I can't give up now, the lord is calling me I must take my bow, I bend over and fall to my knees, asking the Lord help me please.
I begin to rise, I will succeed for my lord is with me for eternity.
All goes black, my eyes begin to open, the figure i was seeing is now more clear for it is my love standing there, she's had my back from the day we meet, one thing I know I could never forget, with tears rolling down her eyes I look at here and say baby I'm home I can't give up yet.
