Winter's Check Mate - Ws

Another branch falls from the once glorious tree. Can it be the ice has won? Beneath frigid earth the last frostbitten root curls. Another winter trophy. 01/13/2023

Thanks Andie. I need to get with you so I can get the names of your other forms. I didn't have the time I wanted to look thoroughly, but it didn't seem like Shadow poetry was showing as many forms as they use to. The error could very well be mine though.

And I grow sad over their loss of leaves, knowing in spring they will bud again. Your impetus to write has returned full force. Love your family pictures!

Yes, the ones that survive will return in full beauty. Still waiting for my spontaneous combustion of words to return but I will take what I can get right now lol. Get better Lady ;)

I love these, FJ. One of the saddest sights I have ever seen was a branch breaking off and falling from its tree one winter.

For me as well Jim, sadder still when the whole tree succumbs. Thank you my friend

Interesting observation dear poet, yet is not the cold, the ice, the limb, the root all from the same natural energy of life that moves through all things unseen by our own blindness...your poem gave me pause for thought...thank you

Yes my friend, but the cycle of life seems to have been thrown out of rotation doesn't it... Good Evening Frederic, and thank you
