Winter Walk and Sounds
As I listened to the snow crunch under my feet,
I walked up the hill toward the setting sun
A wind chime still hanging, slowly sang in the breeze
Between the chirps of birds visiting the feeder
Thin layers of ice cracked between tall trees
I looked at the light, blinding to see
Then I stood still with a breath of cold air
Momentarily frozen in time, listening to winter’s sounds
As peace engulfed me, I became part of the hill,
The snow and the light upon me
