Winter Dream Fancy

Cloud ribbon candy like skies appear full Bursting with winter dream fancy As though one could fathom a day made of wool With snowflakes so thick that you can’t see Yet on the horizon, a figure in red Appeared in a flash of reflection So through all the frosted white breezes, I tread To see you headed in my direction I could not believe you had made your return I’d have cried lest my tears turn to icing So instead, I just ran without pause or concern Right into your arms so enticing I wondered the reason this winter tide chill Had crept up on me unsuspected Yet alone, with this empty heart left to fill It should have been something expected But now through the magical snow dust of love You are here and the freeze has abated And I thank all the Jack Frosted heavens above From two hearts, warm and simply elated 1/18/18
