Winter Blues
It is a cold dull and dreary day
the sun alas hidden by clouds
to lighten my heart not a single ray
it feels like being wrapped in shrouds
The radio is playing the blues
which suits my mood just fine
I watch the fire as the pot stews
maybe I will feel better after I dine
Closing the curtains against a day
that is best forgot. I head for bed
knowing a fresh dawn is on it's way
and the sun might paint the world red
