Wings of the Son

It hurts
it hurts bad Ma
are they gonna break my wings
don't let them clip my wings Ma
don't let them do it!
I want to love so powerfully, 
do they understand what love is
they'll try to burn my heart alive
you know it don't you!

I used to get so scared Ma
I could feel the acid on my ribs,
not anymore though,
thank you for giving me diamond wings Ma,
they haven't burned my wings yet
they're never gonna do it
I have the divine passion and wisdom
they can't destroy me,
now my hurt swells into love glory!
Thank you for bleeding for me Ma -
