Wilderness Princess
Born in the wilderness
Among the river and trees
She was born to a strong bloodline
She could talk with all kinds of beings
Her favorite spot was an alcove
Quietly tucked away
She found such peace there
That's where she would pray
She listened to the wind talk
As it blew through the trees
They would tell her their moods
By the sound of the breeze
Listening to the river she clearly understood
All of the places it truly had touched
The way that it winded along it's banks
She longed to follow it, just be swept away
At the dawn and dusk of everyday
The animals would gather around her
They would frolic and play
Bringing such joy to their friends loving face
At night before she would rest her weary head
She would get on her knees and thank God above
Her life it was simple, her spirit carefree
Pumping though her blood was that of Cherokee
