Why Not

What’s wrong with our culture That we’re so deathly afraid To talk about death and dying It’s a process we will all go through In one way or another Yet hush hush it’s taboo Don’t want to talk about it Don’t want to hear about it We’re so tense and uptight Keeping our thoughts private at all cost Can’t expect any tête-à-tête discussion Because people say the oddest things As the process of our life slips away What a relief it would be To share and discuss openly AP: Honorable Mention 2021 Posted on October 10, 2018

What you've written I accept as heartfelt and true, and yet we are here in this world to live. A thought: You know how you feel around someone who only talks about his/her ailments and/or afflictions? So, maybe that's how people feel when the subject of death is overmuch dwelt upon...At any rate, here's to life! to you and to your family! Best wishes, Gershon

Agreed, Gershon...There are people who will tell you it's a nice day and you wonder what they're complaining about. Communication is so much more that words.

I agree Line. It helps to be able to share thoughts with someone. Our birth and death are both divine. Very insightfull! : )
