Why Don'T You Listen To Me?

You call me and wallow in your pain. You tell me there are monkeys on your back, getting their enslaving ways. You tell me that they have chains and you just can't seem to get away. You tell me you want to change, that life is eternally sad and you feel there will never be happiness again. I try to encourage you to get help, but you throw that away. Why won't you listen to me? Why must you call in a drunken stupor, only to complain, and not to remember anything the next day? I can't handle much more of your ways. You've been a faithful friend, that hadn't judged me when I was living life frivolously. But I am out of that rut now, can't you see how've I've changed? Maybe you should just listen to me. So dear friend, please follow my advice. Your family and friends can no longer help, you need a professional at your side, someone who can be strong enough to lead you towards the light.
