Why Do I Care
Why do I care if there is suffering in this town?
It doesn't affect me
Why do I care when there is a boy in the street that needs a home?
Why do I care if I don't make a difference
and all can go to hades?
Why do I care?
God cares
because He heard the cry of his little one
He cares that the boy can be clothed and fed
He cares because He put them there
and will do everything in His power to clothe them, feed them, school them
And that is when we come in
We are His hands and feet and mouth
Sent them feed them clothe them
Taking care of them
Who needs a hand?
If you don't, you can put yours down
But God does
He needs you and me
If you don't go, help would come from other places as in the Book of Esther
Yeah but you would pay
As God did not call you for nothing
"for such a time as this"
Let you go
Find your causes
Make your own believing
But you can't run
There will come a time
when you say
"I'm coming home" as the prodigal son says
Then you know you are home
For now wander
Wander in the darkness
Wander till you find the light
Trying
Looking
Until you yield
The answer is right there
looking at you in the face of a little boy
Lost and scared
With no one to turn
Just like you
Wouldn't you reach out?
I meant God
Yeah you would be like God to them
in the face of a little boy - yours
Scared
