Who is or was Eleanor Rigby ? Jerry T Curtis Poetry Contest 27 August 2019 Eleanor Rigby Lost her 1st Born Son and Husband To World War 2 She then dedicated her life to the Church Overcome by grief and loss She became a Nun To seek solace and relief She searched for her answers in God And placed her faith in religion Lives in a dream Masking a face of bereavement Like all the other lonely people Picking up rice pretending to smile in a face she keeps inside a message in an old milk bottle that reminds her of Maternal weaning Destined to die alone Until Father Lennon McCartney eventually reads her obituary At her funeral in Strawberry Field's where no 1 will come Back to the dirt from whence she came To rejoin her family again Rejoicing War is Over God's Vestal Angel Eleanor is Saved In song we remember Eleanor Liver Beatle You'll Never Walk Alone

There are poems here with certain writers (a minority), that I do read over again and again - because of the intriguing cerebral layers and the investment in direct coding. Some are sane, and some quite insane (the most interesting). You don't need me to sort you out, you've got it in hand (with sorting them out). I must say Eleanor Rigby, an interesting song choice for a competition, considering, the majority of writers, I read here and know, and might I add, the best writers ... are very lonely people. Beautiful song. and "Eleanor" needs to be spelt correctly, said with the softest sensitivity and in no way, being an asshole. For what my two bobs worth is worth, a finely tuned and cut glass delivery. Regards Leanne, Strawberry Fields Forever...

Good creative take on the contest ... we can hope when our days are done here we are greeted by lost loved ones... this reminds me of an old neighbor I once had her husband died at war she lost their son before birth never remarried outlived everyone and died alone ... good luck in the contest :) hugs
