Who Is That Face

Who is that face.... I look and feel like me, but who is that face. I look down at my hands, where are my rings? Maybe I never had any. I see photos of my face, my body, even my feet. Why is this feeling deep in my tummy, why is this happening to me. Who is that face? I look into your eyes each morning, and before bed each night Who is that face.... Each day I fade a bit more, sinking into a place of sadness. Someday I pray I know that face.....

This is a great free verse poem, Mary. I find the search to be one of the deepest we encounter on ourselves. WOW, each day fading with time and age... Love the poem. SKAT

Thank you. My mother was suffering from Alzheimer"s Disease for many years I was trying to convey from her point of view. It was very hard to watch her suffer. Writing helps me deal with her passing. (Now I'm going to try to write some happier Poems)

I can relate with you, Mary:) Age plays havoc with many personal things, especially looks! My advice is to do away with mirrors:) // paul
