Who Cries the Dove

grey edges of darkness
mourning doves plea
who brings us sorrow?
who sets us free?
bursting from cover
frightening those close
fleeing 'till twilight
brings them to roost
again doves cry out
echoing still
who wants the answers?
who has the will?

I have a poem called SO CRIES THE DOVE... I'm gonna be cheeky and ask you to read it and tell me what you think. ~Trudy~

Very nice James - I love the sound of the mourning doves - I wrote a poem about the Dove Tree but was thinking of white doves - mourning doves deserve this poem.. Thank you for reading my poems.

What a poem, Jim. It is melodic, and rich textured with imageries that provoke. Can we truly bear the answer. Peace and love.
