Who Could'Ve Imagined

A portrait often captures more than looks Although accurately reading the personality Requires special skills most of us don’t possess Who could imagine that Putin is a monster Who can blithely slaughter innocent civilians In the name of what he considers a just war? Or that puny-looking Hitler could command Unquestioned loyalty from his Nazi minions? Or that Stalin could starve his countrymen? Psychopathic killers, all rose to leadership Over their countries and maintained order Through intimidation and by seizing control With the help of the unsuspecting citizenry We think it cannot happen in the U. S. of A. But we have witnessed an attempted coup To overthrow the will of the people voting And a president who admired the dictators He came to know during his brief presidency Still claiming authority over his avowed party Going around the country holding mass rallies Reminiscent of Hitler’s during the late 1930s. Study carefully the photographs of leaders For they will reveal the hidden personalities Of those who crave leadership and control Always keep in mind that power corrupts -- Absolute power corrupts absolutely -- and The masses are easily deceived by deceivers Be careful never to trust a liar -- for all liars Are careful to tell you what you want to hear.

Indeed, Caren. We need to call them for what they are -- cold-blooded killers of innocent human beings.

Historical note: Mothers of Invention's first album, 'Hungry Freaks, Daddy,' c. 1964, featured a song titled, (I think) 'Who Could Imagine?' (and those words were sung falsetto). If that wasn't the actual title, it sure was the highlight of the song... Anyway, whatever... Smiles, gw

Thanks, gw. I don't think I've ever heard of Mothers of Invention. But, that never was my forte. Sounds sort of interesting, though. ~~Beatles fan.

One thing that amazes me is how those crackpots come to power. One thing for sure it's a happier world with them not in it. Tom

Putin and Trump...two giant albatross who should have their necks wrung, Tom. Birds of feather should be clobbered together. That's as nicely as I can put it. Milt, I'm glad you posted this one. Let the naysayers have their say... we are entitled to ours.

You certainly know how to expose the guilty ones, the liars, cheats, and the corrupt. And yet there are people in the country he's torn apart, and on this site who revel in calling Biden a liar when the president who's lied the most is none other than their beloved who filled the swamp in DC with more lies and corruption than ever before. He surrounded his narcissistic self with family and friends who fed on America like scavenger sharks...continues

Thanks, Jenna. I just had to get this one off of my chest. I started not to post it, because I figured it might start a political brouhaha, but I couldn't resist. Thanks, again, for the read and for your thoughts. I appreciate them.

Some are still trying to lie about his losing and having no part of the guilt on January 6th. It's disgusting that so many still praise his name. I will stop venting now. There are more important issues in the world.
