Where Did They Go

Oh, the one on one days of yesterday, Of boredom and babies and waiting. Of school mornings and tagging along, Brown paper bags, school songs. The blowing of wind and weather, Long stockings and hair and lunch bags, Yellow buses and friends to savor, Long highways, Texas dust gags. Oh, Saturday morning quiet and wonder, Pondering age and foreboding. From childhood to now to that end of ends, I stand, speak to my past now going.

Hope this is not the last of your work. It seem like only yesterday when I was last reading and commenting on your work. Our grandson is already 3. Marvellous poem that also reminds us how precious life is and memories. Best regards David in NZ

I too long for those days my friend. So much that I would like to relive and so much that I would change if I could. A great write and a fave for me. God Bless, JB

Ones youth does seem to fly, yet the memories, linger, especially for poetry as good as this is. Stay Safe, where ever you are...Harry

I too long for those days gone by. But...time changes everything. I cherish memories like precious gems. I can look at them whenever I wish. Wishing you the best year ever in 2021. ~ Elaine

Life goes by much too quickly, and those memories become so treasured as time elapses. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful sentimental poem dear Sunlite, be well,
