Where

Lost out in space
Somewhere God has hurled
A less evil place
A far fairer world

Where one circumstance
I'm allowed to defy
Where I'm granted one chance
To just say goodbye

Where I rip through that wreck
To the seat where you bled
Where I cradle your neck
And hold up your head

Where I brush off the mud
And soothe your last fear
Where I clean off the blood
And wipe your last tear

Where I lay you to rest
And stroke shattered bones
Where you die on my chest
Instead of alone

Great write, Tim. Congrats on your win. No one dies alone although the ability to see a loved one off on their journey is comforting. Last goodbyes are bittersweet. Perhaps this poem speaks from experience. It is heartwrenchingly beautiful. Janece

Aw, Tim, this is such a beautiful, hauntingly sad write about your little boy. They are never grown up when they die, always our babies. Love you, dear friend. Congratulations on this win.

Wow......Tim, what can I say?........John had asked for raw emotion in his contest......and by the third stanza, when the raw pain of this poem began to rip my heart.......I wanted to pray that this was not based on a true loss of your own experience. An amazing poem, my friend.
