When You Wonder and Wander

Are they the drowned out or washed away Or captured art when they design their face The uneven pavements, bricks curved with skill The scaffold on a building, that won't fall until They believe that their problems Amount to more than their gifts That sullied puddles, full of glass Make for impassable routes That mean they have to turn back If they look to the sky And can't see past a crane Shaded by shadows and doused by the rain The half way point between station and destination Viewed through different eyes With different moods dictating Whether overlain with beauty Or nestled into the despicable The journey from the train Eyes open or closed To alight or be on the sleeper Ten minutes of your time To see
