When You Lose Someone
When You Lose Someone
To lose someone is always sad
whether they’ve died, changed minds or mad.
There always is one who stays the same
while another just will not remain.
To lose a friend is the mortal end.
You remember things that you did with them.
Faces, places, scenes appear.
Words that they would say you hear.
Losing, losing all that’s found!
Why can’t folks just stay around?
In time you learn what they’re all about.
Then by happenstance, they check out.
It seems that some must be alone,
not the type to constantly change and roam.
At a certain point, you want peace at the table,
a quiet friendship, sure and stable.
