Peacock landed meowing Upon our porch one midnight My brain jumped fast allowing Thoughts fly by candlelight What is this cat curious Out there that has demanded Or am I delirious Dreaming a peacock landed
We had the weirdest thing to happen in the last few days. A peacock showed up at our home. It seems to be gone this morning though. Appearing and disappearing mysteriously.

Usually peacocks do not often come to houses. It is a rare fortune that you could spot a peacock in your vicinity, Sara. Beautiful poem.

Valsa, Peacocks are not a native species here. Someone imported them here and they are rarely seen. Someone said that they have really multiplied on the river in the county below us and it is possible that it got caught up in a wind and blown off course and was looking for its home. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Wow Sara! I think because you are so keenly observant and such a sweet soul, so in touch with nature that animals are being drawn to you, a kindred spirit. It's a wonderful blessing.

Thank you, Nancy for such a nice compliment and the kind review of my work. Nature is there for us to enjoy if we take the time to notice. Sara

Cool dream, or maybe it really happened. Can they make a meowing sound?

Andrea, it was a real peacock. It stayed here about 24 hours. I don't know what happened unless Doris' dog A Great Pyrenees mix chased it away. Thanks for dropping by ..Sara

Eve, A side of a mountain would be enough space for a peacock for sure. Thanks for the visit and the assuring review of my work. Sara

A charming poem, Sara. You describe a rare event that most of us have not witnessed up close. May be it was a messenger of good luck and goodwill.

Vijay, Yes, a few peacocks are around because some people got them for some reason but never here in my lifetime at my home. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Hi Sara, I think peacocks are such lovely birds. And one landed on your front porch, what does it mean? I haven't got a clue. Nevertheless, it was a " visit" that you will never forget. Beautiful picture as well. I enjoyed the read. Have a great day:-) Alexis

I have no idea of the meaning, but I think it has to have a deeper meaning, Alexis. If I figure it out, I will let you know. Your visits to my page affirms my work as a poet. Sara

LOL How weird is that? I do love to hear their calls though, even if they are loud. I'll bet somebody is looking for him. Have a great day, Mrs Sara:)

Why, Daniel, thank you for the kind review of my work. I don't know of any around here anymore. There used to be some in town on a place called Crystal Hill but they did something with those birds. I am guessing they got someone to catch them and remove them to another place because the neighbors all around were complaining of the loud calls. So, I have no idea where it came from but it can fly. Sara
