Listen to poem:
What was I thinking
that you could learn to love me
illusions wandering through my mind
We talk in riddles
to avoid the obvious
all foremost in our thoughts
A silence that’s somehow easier to bear
yet when the midnight hour comes
there’s nothing to console me
All the memories may rise
but won’t amount to much
muddling through the darkness
I just close my eyes
try to forget my sorrow
see what wisdom comes of it tomorrow
