When the Dark Eclipses Romantic Light

When The Dark Eclipses Romantic Light There is a clock that tells the world to spin As a Cheshire cat content with its grin A huge anchor holding it all in space A curve in the long scar upon your face Sorrow and pain cascading by your head And loneliness in this empty bed. We once loved the summer nights away But now in this burning desert we play Gone is your heart and compassionate grace Now our home exists a desolate place. In time, regret became our daily meal We woke seeing how each other we feel Then pain and agony became our friend And Fate pronounced love's bitterest end. Robert J. Lindley, 1-23- 1979 Sonnet, ( And The Imaginary Tower Fell )
