When She Was Born

When she was born, emotion bent his knee. He hush-asked, "how could one perfectly wee, of such beauty, be an outcome of me?" His inner core glowed joy in a stunned beam. Sight of her was more WOW than any dream in this rough man's imagination gleam. Feel led outside where wind took his wild scream. A tough man crumbled soft by her small face. His fearsome now in a defenseless place, his emotions marveled at God's good grace granting her, a miracle, from his trace. His child, baby girl, had him Dad-captured. He who had never been soft enraptured, not at any point tenderly fractured, surrendered his all, now infant raptured. He loved his little girl with full heart might. Years of love turned tough in divorce's plight. He wonders if she knows that no fought fight ever hurt him as did their good-bye night. When she was born, emotion bent his knee.

It's about my love, Tim, and his daughter. I enjoy your comments, you remind me of me, not that I enjoy myself (really, I do). All the best to you, stay upbeat and sweet! (you can't help it, right?) Wishing you all the joy your heart can hold ... CayCay

Caycay, this is such a thoughtful poem. The whole feel of it is so imbued with the great love a dad has for his daughter. I never really had that so I am jealous of the girls that do. To be so loved by one's dad. I think it really must help a woman in her life when she starts finding a mate!

I have lived jealous in the very same way, and, yes, it does impact the mate search in a not so good way. Let me know if you ever read this! CayCay

Ohh what a heartfelt and heartbreaking poem CayCay. Your write portrays the adoring Dad with beautifully expressed emotional elegance through lovely loving-then-sad imagery 'their good-bye night', and through rhyme. An excellent write my lovely friend. Best wishes for a win.. ~Susan

Hi, sweetheart. I took a note Tim, my love, had written his daughter and used it for this poem. The words are mine, but the feel is definitely Tim's. We will have his children on the 26th and, by golly, we'll have Tim's smile that day, as well. Love to you ... CayCay
