When Memories Cure
I lost my sleep to a painful elbow,
whatever I did, suffering did not go,
daughter in next room, son in another,
but last night, I missed my dear old mother!
I would not have been so lonely in pain,
she would have cared for me in endless chain,
shuffling through the darkness in her old age,
applying care for a motherly wage.
stayed up all night in tearful agony,
memories of her care there were many,
by early dawn, I slipped into slumber,
cured by love is all I could remember
